The Association of Plumbing and Heating Contractors (APHC) has issued a briefing for its membership that may help business owners navigate some of the new and unprecedented challenges thrown up by the coronavirus pandemic. Available on its website, the APHC’s guidance seeks to address financial issues as well as ways of dealing with customers and employees.
With cashflow concerns set to exert increasing pressure across all sectors, the APCH outlines the assistance recently revealed in the government’s 2020 Budget announcement. Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak announced a package of measures to provide support for public services, individuals and businesses. The APCH advises on what is available to SMEs and how they can access further information.
In addition, employers are advised to consider some simple steps to protect the health and safety of staff. Employers are advised to follow good practice with some suggestions on what they can do to protect their employees.
While there is not official guidance for working in the homes and properties of customers, the APCH says there are some simple precautions installation companies can take to minimise risk for all concerned.
