A new cylinder range includes direct and indirect models, as well as an air source heat pump (ASHP) cylinder, expanding the options available for domestic hot water installations.
The Baxi Megaflo Essential range includes an ASHP cylinder designed for use with residential heat pumps, including Baxi’s HP40 and HP60 models. It has a high-surface-area coil, twin 3kW immersion heaters and a secondary return connection.
The cylinders use an internal expansion mechanism, removing the need for a separate expansion vessel. Indirect models use coil-in-coil heat exchangers for heat recovery.
The range sits alongside the existing Megaflo Eco direct and indirect cylinders, which have also been updated with the revised internal expansion system. The Megaflo Eco models have 60mm insulation and a 30-year warranty on the stainless-steel inner tank.
The Essential range is intended to provide options across different installation requirements and budgets, including heat pump applications and properties with solar PV.
