Government advice has been published to help businesses, including the self-employed, conduct their work safely amid the coronavirus pandemic. The guidance is designed to give workers a framework of what to think about in restarting business while keeping everyone concerned safe.
The official guidance covers eight different types of workplace settings, including “other people’s homes” and “construction and outdoor work”, which will be of specific relevance to plumbers and heating engineers.
Since installers operate across a number of varying work environments, they can also benefit from the government’s advice for other places of work, including: factories, plants and warehouses; shops and branches; and vehicles.
Businesses can also continue to take advantage of the job retention scheme following the Chancellor of the Exchequer’s announcement that the programme would continue until the end of October 2020. For more information, click here.
