AKW has introduced flow-limited versions of its Arka Cool Touch, Arka Thermostatic, and Vettora mixer showers. These models have been approved by the Water Regulations Advisory Scheme (WRAS) and are designed to reduce water usage significantly. The new showers consume between 40% to 69% less water compared to traditional models without flow limiters. Specifically, the Arka Cool Touch and Vettora models achieve a maximum flow rate of 6 litres per minute, while the Arka Thermostatic allows for a rate of 8 litres per minute.
The product design prioritises both safety and user-friendliness. Each shower features a pre-set maximum temperature of 38 degrees Celsius to prevent scalding. The Arka Cool Touch model is equipped with two paddle levers that independently manage temperature and flow, ensuring ease of use for individuals with limited dexterity. The Arka Thermostatic model is suitable for commercial care settings and includes rounded paddle levers, while the Vettora model has peg levers for straightforward operation.
