Army veterans were the focus of a recent BBC DIY SOS: The Big Build Project, and now they are keeping warm with ecoTEC boilers donated by Vaillant.

Over the course of two weeks, volunteers and the DIY SOS team transformed five derelict homes in Newton Heath, Manchester for a group of army veterans to move in with their families. The homes were designed to provide the veterans a place of sanctuary for them to recuperate and learn new skills at a newly developed training centre.

DIY SOS contacted Vaillant to help, and the manufacturer provided five ErP ‘A’ rated ecoTEC pro boilers, along with flue kits. The donated boilers were installed in the homes that were transformed into energy efficient living spaces for the vets.

Gregg Cole, Commercial Director for Vaillant, says: “It was a real privilege to be involved in such an exciting and worthwhile project. After speaking with the DIY SOS team and understanding the plans for the homes in Newton Heath, we knew exactly the type of solution that would suit the renovation. The ecoTEC pro range was the perfect choice, being compact, highly efficient and easy to use.”
