Ant Provan, founder of Gas AppUk, highlights the benefits of a new boiler finance package for use by independent installers and their customers
Gas App Uk’s boiler finance scheme is now live and we are hitting the ground running. Hundreds of engineers have already signed up.
Given the interest levels since launching in January, we seem to be filling a real demand. The fact is that most boiler replacements are distressed purchases, made when the boiler fails and can no longer be repaired economically.
In my experience on the tools, many customers did not have enough money saved to cover the cost of this distressed purchase. Many had to resort to paying for their new boiler with a credit card.
In recent years, more and more small businesses and sole traders have started using mobile card machines. This is in part due to mobile payment technology improving significantly. Personally, I also found it useful to use a credit card merchant facility with Worldpay.
But it is still much more common for the big corporate installers to be able to accept credit card payments, and I know of a lot of brilliant independent engineers losing business due to this financing issue. They shouldn’t have to.
That’s why, with Gas App’s latest finance offering, we want to give independent engineers a level playing field, or even a competitive edge.
We are therefore now offering competitive, independent finance. Members who have joined the scheme will simply log in to Gas App, visit the Boiler Finance tab, and complete the form. You will then get an instant decision on whether your customer is eligible for finance. If so, you can complete the sale, secure the money, and get paid once the job is complete.
Independent finance means it can be used to buy ANY boiler. In other words, the finance is not tied to any particular brand. Gas engineers can therefore chose the best boiler for their customer. This is a win-win for both parties. The customer gets the finance they need and the engineer gets to work with the boilers they know and trust.
This is groundbreaking within our industry – no one else is offering it! Because of this, engineers might have a lot of questions. On our website, we have put together a full list of popular questions and answers. For example, a lot of engineers wonder who actually receives the finance when the loan has been approved?
In response: your customer does not receive the money. You (the engineer) will receive the funds that the customer has applied for (minus the admin fee). This makes the process safer for all engineers.
So, if you’re tired of losing work to the big boys, get on over to the website and watch the quick video, which explains everything you need to know about the scheme: www.gasapp.co.uk
