Installers significantly influence wetroom purchasing patterns according to new survey results from AKW, one of the UK’s leading providers of wetroom solutions. According to the research, nine out of ten consumers’ installation choices are based on the installers’ recommendations.

The survey was carried out with wetroom installers from across the UK and not only showed the influence that installers have over the purchasing decision, but also revealed their purchasing patterns. The way installers purchase wetroom solutions is changing. Although 67% of installers don’t order any of their products online, a growing minority, 24%, now buy more than half their wetroom formers and trays online and get them delivered to site, or their place of work.

James Dadd, Marketing Director at AKW, comments: “This research demonstrates the level of trust that consumers have in their installer’s recommendations and shows how purchasing patterns are shifting, as installers become more accustomed to going online to purchase their wet room supplies.  These findings also re-inforce the importance of installers choosing manufacturers to work with that deliver high quality product training, as well as great online support and customer service.”
