Quadsaw is the name of a new invention that drills square and rectangular holes. Made in the UK, Quadsaw is an attachment for power drills that uses patented technology to convert rotary motion into linear motion in four planes at once. It means that perfect square holes for electrical sockets and other boxes can be cut in seconds rather than minutes.
The attachment incorporates four blades that cut square holes with minimal dust and high precision. It has a built-in spirit level and the blades can be changed in seconds.
Each set of blades will drill hundreds of holes, as tested in commercial applications, and the accessory is compatible with a variety of drills.
Inventor of the Quadsaw, Michael Sebhatu, comments: “Working as a kitchen fitter whilst completing my Masters degree in Product Design, I watched an electrician sawing the opening by hand to fit an electric box to a wall and wondered why he didn’t use a cutter. That’s how the idea for Quadsaw was born. The unique thing about this product is that it’s giving a better life to the person using it. It’s quick and efficient, and there’s no making good afterwards or returning to site to fix things up.”
