To herald the launch of their new Envirofloor underfloor heating range, Firebird have produced a comprehensive brochure which not only provides detailed product information, but also covers the basics of system design. Ideal for both new build and refurbishment projects, a ‘wet’ underfloor heating system (which is up to 25% more efficient than traditional radiators), is the most efficient way to provide space heating. Unlike radiators which create warm air pockets, ‘wet’ underfloor heating systems utilise a high proportion of radiant heat which rises uniformly from the floor. This creates the ideal temperature profile of warm feet and a cool head which increases the level of comfort for occupants. Envirofloor underfloor heating systems can be easily combined with radiator systems for extensions and conservatories; or to create a mixed heating system with radiators on upper floors.
Suitable for use with a wide range of hot water sources, an Envirofloor underfloor heating system really comes into its own when installed in conjunction with an Enviroair air source heat pump. As air source heat pumps produce water at a lower temperature than a traditional boiler, the savings on energy and running costs are considerable. Working in exactly the same way as a radiator system does when linked to a boiler in a traditional heating system, the water and air temperature are controlled through the heat pump controller which operates the entire heating system.
To make the installation process even more simple, Firebird produce Envirofloor underfloor heating kits for both solid and suspended floor constructions, which contain all of the components required for use with an Enviroair air source heat pump.
