The Gas Safety Superhero campaign has launched its new website that supports its aim of increasing gas safety awareness among engineers, merchants, manufacturers and consumers. The original website was unveiled during Gas Safety Week 2016, and the newest version will also promote the campaign’s new social enterprise designed to support the installer community.

Run by Paul Hull of the Industria Group, the enterprise has been created to provide installers with a range of business services to address the challenges of things like bookkeeping, accounting, web design and marketing. Revenue from these activities will be used to create a pot of money that those in the industry can access in times of trouble.

Paul explains: “I was acutely aware of the financial difficulty many long serving, hard working and incredibly skilled engineers face throughout their business lives and had firsthand experience of the huge levels of stress financial hardships can cause. It made sense, therefore, to connect these two problems – offering business services specifically for engineers and using some of the money charged to create a fund that engineers could apply to when they found themselves in financial difficulty.”

Of all the money that is given to the Gas Safety Superheroes, 25% of it will be used to fuel the campaign and cover the costs of marketing materials, exhibition costs and online resources. The remaining 75% will be made available to plumbing and heating engineers via The Gas Safety Superhero fund.

The new website also boasts a resource bank for engineers that register on the site (this is simple and free) and has a host of downloadable resources for time on the tools, managing a business and dealing with some of the challenges plumbing and heating engineers often face.

There is more to come from the team during Gas Safety Week 2017 (18-24 September) and they are looking forward to seeing engineers fund their future with the new services they will launch.
