Developed to provide freedom and flexibility when transforming concrete substrates into a sloping, tileable wetroom floor, Marmox Minilay helps installers create stylish shower spaces in both new-build and refurbishment situations.
Offering a wide choice of design options, especially where overall height or underfloor depth is restricted, the drain kits are available in 600mm long Linear or 120 x 120mm Point formats to remove water from the tiled area, both being manufactured from durable stainless steel. They are also available with either a Slimline Waste which requires just a 60mm depth, or the very versatile 3600 Swivel Waste which can rotate incrementally from the horizontal to the vertical.
The Marmox Minilay’s wastes are factory fitted into a height adjustable frame, which is itself set into a small section of rigid board that enables the chosen floor finish to continue out across a 4:1 sand/cement screed, spread across waterproof Marmox fleece. The manufacturer’s MSP 360 adhesive is used to seal where the 40mm waste pipe passes through the fleece, with more of the material being bonded on top of the board.
While the compact Slimline Waste sits directly on the subfloor, height adjustable legs can support the board where the 3600 Swivel Waste is preferred, while the level of the grates within the drain frame are adjustable using inserts provided. Multiple layers of 10mm thick XPS insulation can also be employed to support the boards at the desired level.
The Linear Drain can be purchased with a choice of Standard, Square or Circle grates, while the Point Drain is offered with either a Square of Circle grate. A Tileable Carrier is available for both drain models.
