Nuaire has replaced the virgin ABS plastic casing on its Drimaster-Eco Positive Input Ventilation system with recycled plastic, a move the manufacturer says will reduce embodied carbon by 167 tonnes each year. The change alters the casing colour from blue to black but does not affect product performance. The Drimaster and Drimaster-Eco units continue to be made at Nuaire’s South Wales facility.

The PIV systems draw filtered air from the loft and introduce it gently into the home through a central diffuser, creating a steady positive pressure that helps push out stale and damp air through natural leakage points. More than a million units are installed in the UK, and they are regularly used in social housing due to their quick installation, long service life and minimal disruption for residents.

The latest Drimaster-Eco uses up to 20% less energy than previous models, lowering running and life cycle costs. The Drimaster-Eco NOX variant adds two carbon cartridges to reduce nitrogen oxide levels inside the home. Models with a 400W heating element are available for colder loft conditions, and the Flatmaster system provides an option for homes without lofts.

Nuaire says that this product update aligns with its wider carbon reduction efforts as part of the Genuit Group’s net-zero goals.
