A new training academy has opened in Stockport designed to provide a dedicated centre of excellence for engineers to train on the latest heating and cooling technologies. The facility has been set up by Carrier Solutions UK to offer education and support for HVAC engineers across the UK and will feature products from the company’s Viessmann and Vokèra brands, as well as Carrier and Toshiba residential and light commercial HVAC equipment.

Converted from a former warehouse, the new training centre spans approximately 1300 square metres and will provide visitors with an opportunity to gain hands-on experience on Carrier’s multi-brand range of HVAC solutions, including air-to-air and air-to-water heat pumps, SHRM Advanced VRF systems, boilers and award-winning controllers. Additionally, the centre features F-Gas training rigs for industry certification, and will function as an accredited BPEC training centre.

“This investment in training excellence is a major step in supporting the future of the UK’s HVAC industry,” says David Dunn, MD UK&I, Carrier RLC EMEA. “We are committed to equipping engineers across the country with the knowledge and expertise they need to work with the most advanced solutions available today.”

During the official opening, industry professionals, customers and partners were offered an exclusive first look at the facility, with the ribbon cutting by England and Sale Sharks rugby stars George Ford and Ben Curry.

The opening marks the first phase of a broader initiative, with additional training centres set to open in Wakefield, Telford, London Colney and Plymouth later this year.

“Our goal is to make high-quality training accessible to engineers nationwide,” adds Dunn. “By expanding our network of brand-standard training centres, we are ensuring that professionals up and down the country can train on all the equipment from across the Carrier Solutions UK portfolio, be backed by a 10-year warranty, and remain at the forefront of HVAC innovation.”
