The SC1 Compact is the latest entry to Monarch Water’s Scaleout range, a product that protects against limescale build-up. With a flow rate up to 16 litres/min, the SC1 Compact has been primarily designed to protect the secondary side of small combi boilers, or any other application not exceeding this flow rate.
The Monarch Scaleout works by passing scale-causing calcium ions through a bed of food grade ceramic beads within the unit, which is then transformed into a non-scaling calcium crystal. The crystals attach themselves to the beads. When they reach a certain size, they release themselves from the beads and back into the water. As a result of this physical change, scale no longer forms on surfaces, including heating coils and elements, fittings, or the inside of pipes.
The ceramic beads ensure pH stability and corrosion control and are suitable for use with all types of metal, including aluminium.
