Specflue, the supplier of renewable heat products and flue systems, has celebrated the first birthday of its Castleford depot.
Since opening its doors last August, Specflue has seen demand increase for a number of its flue and chimney products and has reported a 20% increase in sales in the areas it distributes to from its base in Gilcar Way in Castleford.
MD Jeremy Fry comments: “We opened an outlet in the north to enable us to service customers based in the Midlands, all the way up to the Scottish Border. 12 months on and Castleford has proven to be a success, with flue and wood burning stove sales increasing, verifying that we made the right decision to invest in a new depot.”
Since Specflue first started trading in 1992 from its outlet in Sudbury with just five members of staff, today it reports a turnover in excess of £23 million, employing over 120 members of staff.
“We chose Castleford as it is a pivotal point in the UK with excellent transport links. Our new depot can, not only be easily accessed by our customers, but also allows us – through our fleet of service vehicles – to fulfil our next day delivery service pledge,”adds Jeremy.
Best selling products in the north include Specflue’s Nova and iFlue chimney systems and the Termatech wood burning stoves. The depot’s success in gaining additional business has resulted in an increase in the number of sales representatives looking after customers served by the outlet. Scotland is also proving to be a busy area, with Specflue increasing its van coverage by 50% to cope with demand.
“Customer feedback has been extremely positive. We are covering the vast majority of northern England with our own fleet of service vehicles and plan to continue this expansion over the coming months. We are also intending to increase the growing range of stock and will be continuing to extend our cover into Scotland,” concludes Jeremy Fry.
