Polymer pipework manufacturer Rehau has launched the Rautitan flex green sustainable universal pipe system, which is claimed to offer over a 90% saving in production emissions compared to the company’s standard Rautitan drinking water and heating system.
Rautitan flex green has achieved ISCC certification and uses industry waste, such as vegetable fats, to help decrease the carbon footprint of the pipe. The new pipes are said to be a great way for customers to demonstrate compliance with ecological, social and economic requirements for the lifecycle of a building, required through building certifications.
Reliability is assured through a permanently leak-tight connection with fittings and compression sleeves, with the pipe itself being the sealant with no need for O-rings. A simple visual inspection is all that is required to check that the joint is complete.
