A team from Plumb and Parts Center are set to compete in the world’s longest canoe and kayak race to raise funds for charity.

Ben Hughes, Nigel Strickland and Phil Ponsford (pictured) will set sail alongside 13 team members on 29 June in the Yukon River Quest Race. The 444-mile, non-stop competition lasts five days and and is held annually in the Yukon Province of northwest Canada.

The team, which was formed by the MD of Wolseley UK’s infrastructure division, Keith Dorling, is aiming to raise £100,000 for Cancer Research UK and complete the race in just 50 hours.

Keith comments: “It’s heartening to see so many people come together from across the organisation to support us. It’s a challenge that will push the teams to physical and mental limits and beyond but it’s all for a worthy cause. Cancer Research UK is a charity that supports many people across the UK and we encourage anyone from across the industry to support our quest for such a worthy cause.”
