The Knipex ‘86’ Pliers Wrench range is designed for tasks that typically require multiple spanners. The tools cover a wide range of applications, from small fittings to larger pipework.
Combining several functions in one tool, the Pliers Wrench 86 03 180 is suited to general plumbing tasks and can replace both metric and imperial spanners. Its mechanism increases applied hand force, providing strong grip while allowing controlled handling of delicate components such as compression fittings and valves. The parallel jaws support the gripping and pressing of flat materials.
The tool has a chrome-plated finish for corrosion resistance and can be adjusted directly on the workpiece with a push-button mechanism. It offers adjustment up to 40mm (1½”) and uses a locking joint bolt to maintain the selected setting. Its ratchet-like operation allows tightening and releasing bolted connections without fully removing the tool.
The broader ‘86’ range includes options for different tasks and spaces. The compact Pliers Wrench XS (86 04 100) offers a gripping width up to 21 mm and is suited for confined areas due to its small size and slim head. For larger installations, the Pliers Wrench XL (86 03 400) has a jaw capacity up to 85 mm (3⅜”) and can be used on large fittings and various materials.
The range is available in chrome-plated or atramentised finishes and with several handle types, including plastic coating, multi-component grips, and comfort handles. The 86 06 250 variant is VDE tested. All tools in the range follow the same core design principles aimed at providing controlled force, smooth operation and consistent performance.
