Heating solutions manufacturer Ideal Boilers recently welcomed the Queen’s representative to its Hull headquarters as part of an event to celebrate scooping two 2019 Queen’s Awards for Enterprise.

The business was presented with two trophies recognising its outstanding achievements in both innovation and international trade by the Lord Lieutenant of the East Riding of Yorkshire, Dame Susan Cunliffe-Lister.

The Lord Lieutenant was joined by the Right Worshipful the Lord Mayor of Kingston upon Hull, Councillor Steve Wilson, at the company’s headquarters for the awards ceremony and a day of celebrations which saw all employees enjoying afternoon tea and games.

The judges assessing the innovation category singled out Ideal’s ‘manufacturing process that transforms the reliability of its boilers and enables it to extend its warranties to up to 12 years’.

Similarly, those assessing the international trade entry praised Ideal Boilers for growing overseas sales by 332% in the past six years. International markets where notable successes have been achieved – in both domestic and commercial sales – include Ireland, Italy, Turkey and Spain.

Doug Lloyd, operations director at Ideal Boilers, comments: “Our double success in this year’s Queen’s Awards for Enterprise demonstrates our commitment to design, innovation and the customer focus that’s ensured our products are selling so well around the world.

“It was a privilege to welcome both the Lord Lieutenant and the Mayor to our offices, as we raise the profile not only of our business and our products, but also of the city we’re proud to call home.”
