Three plumbing and heating twitterati have joined forces with the team at The Builders Babes to launch the Gas Safe Superhero campaign. The trio of ‘Gas Safe Superheroes’ was formed by @PRHullltd  (Paul Hull), @pbplumber (Peter Booth), and @GasManGod  (as yet unnamed and unmasked), who are taking a grassroots approach to stamping out unsafe gas practices, from consumer to retailer to engineer. The campaign was launched last week to coincide with Gas Safety Week 2016.

Central to the Superheroes’ crusade is a petition to improve policies, procedures and the legal requirements associated with gas safety. It asks Government to ensure that the sale of gas-related products is only ever allowed for those who show their Gas Safe card at the time of purchase. The petition also asks that Gas Safe engineers be required to present their card before entering a customer’s home when carrying out any gas work.

The Gas Safe Superheroes invite everyone to take part, with support and information packs tailor-made for installers, retailers and customers available on the website.

For more information, visit the website or tweet @PRHullltd, @pbplumber and @GasManGod using the hashtags #safetysuperhero and #regardthecard. And don’t forget to add your name to the petition.
