At a special event held at the US Embassy on Wednesday 4th November, Unico brought together several representatives of the industry to explore how energy-efficient homes can create healthier, more comfortable and future-ready spaces. MD of Unico UK & Europe, Richard Soper, took the opportunity to launch the company’s Energy Efficient Healthy Homes mission and open a discussion on rethinking comfort for a changing climate.
Energy Efficient Healthy Homes is Unico’s commitment to helping homeowners create healthier, more comfortable and future-ready living and working environments. By delivering efficient heating, cooling, ventilation and air filtration through a single integrated system, the Unico solution enables homes to adapt to changing weather patterns while reducing energy consumption and improving indoor air quality.
The networking evening brought together professionals from across the sector to consider the role of high-performance HVAC solutions in creating healthier, more energy-efficient buildings. Short presentations, project insights and informal discussions introduced The Unico System’s approach to indoor comfort and energy efficient homes, alongside recent projects and developments. Guests also exchanged ideas and connected with other professionals over drinks and refreshments at the Embassy.
Speaking at the event, Richard Soper, said: “We want to future-proof homes for generations to come by delivering healthier indoor environments, exceptional energy efficiency and year-round comfort in a world of changing weather and growing environmental awareness.”
As the UK experiences warmer summers and periods of increasingly intense heat, expectations of home comfort, cooling and energy use are changing. Growing awareness of indoor air quality and building performance is also increasing demand for living and working environments that are designed for wellbeing.
Recent years have highlighted the challenges homeowners face from increasing temperature extremes, rising energy costs and greater awareness of indoor air quality. Heatwaves are becoming more common, creating uncomfortable living conditions, disrupting work-from-home routines and increasing demand for cooling solutions. At the same time, consumers are seeking more sustainable ways to heat and cool their homes without compromising comfort.
Unico’s integrated approach addresses these challenges through a system that heats, cools, ventilates and filters air efficiently, helping homeowners create healthier living environments while reducing energy consumption.
Through real-world customer case studies, performance monitoring and measurable efficiency data, Unico is building evidence of the impact of Energy Efficient Healthy Homes. COP monitoring and customer experiences will help demonstrate how energy-efficient homes can deliver tangible benefits for homeowners, their wellbeing and the environment.
Scott Intagliata, owner of The Unico System in the United States, also attended and spoke about the history and future of Unico in homes, while Kevin Wellman, CEO of the CIPHE, offered his support to the company’s campaign to raise skill levels in the industry and achieve better temperature-controlled living spaces.
