Advance Appliances celebrates twenty years of growth and innovation

Advance Appliances Limited, a Walsall based specialist in hot water storage systems, has reached a milestone this year as it celebrates twenty years of trading.  Following a major strategic expansion, the company is at the forefront of innovation in the UK heating sector, producing fully recyclable hot water storage cylinders that combine sustainability with cutting edge technology.  This is an important contribution that will help businesses and organisations comply with the requirements of ISO-14001, which is the standard for environmental management systems.

Founded in 2005 by Geoff Egginton, Advance Appliances offers thermal stores, heat pump cylinders, buffer stores and electric boilers compatible with electricity, multi-fuel, solar and heat pump technologies.

Responding to government targets to grow the UK heat pump cylinder market from 40,000 to 600,000 units per year by 2028, Advance Appliances recognised the need to bring more manufacturing in-house.

Geoff explains: “We have always supported the trade and consumers by offering high quality hot water storage products, along with expert technical advice and responsive pre and post-sales support.

“Our investment in a state-of-the-art facility in Walsall has enabled us to design and manufacture fully recyclable hot water storage cylinders.  This innovation reduces the impact on the environment while enhancing efficiency, design flexibility and compatibility with renewable technologies such as solar and heat pumps.  It can also support merchants, housing providers, housebuilders and other organisations with their environmental obligations, such as ISO-14001.

“We are very proud of our new facility, which features advanced machinery and sustainable processes, reinforcing the company’s leadership in operational modernisation and environmental responsibility.  This, in turn, has led to further innovation, cost control and production flexibility.

“And to add icing to the birthday cake, our new range of A Class heat pump cylinders will be available to the trade from early next year.  This represents a giant leap forward for our company and customers at a time when most manufacturers offer C Class – so watch this space!”

The expansion has created upskilling opportunities for existing employees and new roles in the business.  This includes the appointment of Richard Prince as Business Development Director.  Richard says: “The new facility has been transformational.  It has enabled us to innovate, scale efficiently and bring to market a fully recyclable hot water storage cylinder, which is something unique in the UK heating sector.  As the company celebrates its 20th birthday, it isn’t just growth we are celebrating, it’s sustainable growth with lasting impact.”

Advance Appliances was established in Walsall and, even though the business has outgrown its original premises and moved, it has remained in the same area, providing jobs for local people and sourcing materials locally, wherever possible.  It is a proud Charter Member of the Heating and Hot Water Association (HWA), belongs to the Heat Pump Association and has ISO 9001 approval for quality management.
